Virgin and Saint John of Calvary in carved limewood ; hollowed backs, Virgin’s had been closed over. Virgin with joined hands, raised eyes, head covered with a veil forming a coat of which a parts are held under each arm, curly locks, dressed in a belted tunic and a coat with broken and hollowed pleats. Iron mark M.B on Virgin’s back.

South Germany, early 16th Century

Heights : 52,5 cm and 51,5 cm (20.6 in. and 20.2 in.)

Condition report : Restorations notably on the Saint John’s hands and at the base of the Virgin, some worm holes, iron mark from later period.
