Very large mantle clock in Boulle marquetry, Louis XIV Period


Very large mantle clock with Boulle marquetry over tortoise shell plinth on all sides. Twelve plate dial in enamel. Very rich gilt bronze ornamentation of: Fame, urns, harpies, masks and shells.
Movement signed Estienne Baillon in Paris.

Louis XIV Period, after a model drawn by Jean Bérain, circa 1680

Total height : 99 cm (38.9 in)- Width: 42 cm (16.5 in)- Depth : 26 cm (10.2 in).

Put into working order late 19th Century. Small accidents, bezel without glass.
