Terra-cotta statuette. Ecuador, Jama Coaque


Terra-cotta statuette with some blue and yellow paint pigments, depicting a seated figure wearing a labret, tembetá and hoop earrings. He holds fruits (?) in his hands. One bonnet with two braids and one diademe covering the head.

Ecuador, Jama Coaque, 500 B.C.-500 A.D.

Height: 25 cm (9-3/4 in.)

Broken head and one braid, glued. Losses on left hand and tembetá. Break in middle of body.
