Three in-4 quarto grape-colored volumes (30 x 23 cm), brown half sheepskin on corners, spine with fake ribbing, colored paper boards (binding of the era).
Complete collection with letterhead (16 deliveries, being 64 issues with 180 engraved prints).
Composition: each delivery comprised four issues with three engravings.
Theoretic schema of each delivered issue: • title-cover (with manuscript indication for printing) • 3 engraved prints each preceded with tissue guard paper with lettering on verso • fake title.
After issue 37, half-title is replaced by second cover sheet.
First tome :
Four deliveries (1 - 4), being 16 issues (1 - 16) with 3 engraved prints (being 48 engraved prints, being engraved title), vellum before text.
Second tome :
Four deliveries (5 - 8), being16 issues (17 - 32) with 3 engraved prints (being 48 engraved prints), vellum before text.
Third tome :
Eight deliveries (9 - 16), being 32 issues : 28 issues (being 84 engraved prints) and 4 issues with text :
Two deliveries (9 - 10), being 8 issues (33 - 40) with 3 engraved prints (being 24 engraved prints), vellum before text.
One delivery (11), complete, with text, including 4 issues (41 - 44).
Five deliveries (12 - 16), being 20 issues (45 - 64) (being 60 engraved prints)

Binder inversions :
• Issue 40 and two last engraved prints from issue 39 are bound between issues 47 & 48.
• One engraved print from issue 46 was inserted in issue 47.
• Two engraved prints from issue 56 bound in front of issue 45.
The first issue was comprised as follows : • Title-cover of 1st issue • half-title • general title • subscription pamphlet • tissue guard paper (with lettering on verso) • engraved title • 2 engraved prints preceded with their tissue guard paper with lettering on verso • half-title.
11th delivery, destined to finish « 1st volume », contains, other two end cover sheets, 31 sheets (Avant-propos, Letters for sovereigns ..., 1 ƒ white, Table of contents, List ... of subscribers, 1 ƒ white).
Issue 45 was destined to be the first première delivery of 2nd volume. It contains, other two end covers sheets: • half-title • typographic title • engraved title and two engraved prints before text (tissue guard paper with lettering in relation).
Second with cover issue 60, is glued onto Advertising sheet announcing to subscribers that « This work will definitely comprise only twenty-two deliveries ; forming only two volumes, which contains 120 articles accompanied with several finely-executed engraved prints». Meaning each volume contains 11 deliveries : 10 deliveries of 4 issues - 3 engraved prints (being 120 engraved prints), and one delivery with text (counted as 4 issues).
We have 180 engraved prints, including 168 vellum before text, 2 engraved prints on vellum - lettering, 10 engraved prints colored vellum.
Collection complete (16 deliveries, being 64 issues, being 180 engraved prints), - which is missing 24 engraved prints from deliveries 17 and 18 (among the 22 announced), which appeared a few years later(1813 ?).
This work appears to have been delivered over nine years. It was proposed - subscription in four levels of quality : «Beau Colombier, black Vellum, Colored Vellum, Vellum before text », the “Vellum before text” was four time more expensive than “Beau Colombier”.
La publication did not continue - its term : stopped - with 18th delivery. Complete examples of this are very rare, the most completed example is at French National Library (BN) with 202 engraved prints (again an ordinary printing of black Vellum). Our example may be the only known luxury version of “Vellum before text”, and to have been conserved its delivery covers.
