Joseph Félon was a painter and a sculptor. He started his career at the Salon of 1840, and continued to exhibit regularly there until 1882. He worked on numerous public monuments in Paris (Louvre, Tuileries, Saint Etienne du Mont, Hôtel de Ville, Sorbonne and Trocadéro), Nîmes, Bordeaux and Nancy.
The marble of Andromeda dated 1849 is in the collections of the Musée de Dunkerque (cf. exhibition "Corps à corps" September 2010-October 2011, Dunkerque).
Vittoz was a bronze founder. He was a member of the Réunion des Fabricants (Union of Makers) from 1818 and became Vice President in 1844. In particular, he was the regular caster for Cumberworth and Feuchères. His son E. Vittoz set up shop at 48 rue des Marais Saint Martin.
