Catalonia, SPAIN.
Group of four earthenware tiles decorated with polychrome scenes representing the seven deadly sins by Pierrots, beginning with various positions and for four amongst them bearing the inscription on their breast panels: "Soverbia" (Pride) "Avarisia" (Avarice) "Luguria" (Lust) "Yra" (Wrath). Those not wearing inscriptions represent Envy, Gluttony and Sloth.

Early 19th Century.

Within giltwood frames.

Sides: 21 x 21 cm (8-1/4 x 8-1/4 in.).

Few chips and one tile has restored corner.
