CHATILLON-SUR-SEINE, mid-18th century

Silversmith : probably Jean-Baptiste MAERTENS or MARTIN (letter M under crowned tower) in Châtillon circa 1746-1751 (Cf. Les Orfèvres de Bourgogne, Cahiers du Patrimoine, 1999, p. 241 and note #161 for a beaker circa 1750).

Weight : 143,8g (4oz 12dwt).

Height : 9.5cm (3-3/4in).

Condition report :
- Jurande mark (or date letter) and maker’s mark on bottom and foot. Crab, small guarantee for département after 1838 on rim and foot.
- Wears. Repolished. Minor restoration traces on the lower section. Crack on rim.
