SILVER COVERED PORRINGER, 18TH CENTURY

Silver-covered porringer. The smooth body engraved with two coats of arms (one 18th century and the other 19th century). The pierced handles of origin (although unmarked) chiseled with interlaced dolphins, shells and male busts. The lid with gadrooned border has a central flat knop displaying a female bust against a radiant decor applied with alternating, engraved lambrequins against a matted ground.

(The lid is also engraved with 18th century coat of arms - very slight wear on engraving).
