Plain silver baluster-shaped chocolate pot with three feet and ebonized turned wood handle. Moulded reeded rims. Hinged cover with scroll thumbpiece. Baluster finial on a pivoting disc. Hinged spout, the upper section with fine shell motif.

19th century accolé coats of arms engraved below a count’s coronet later transformed into a marquis’s coronet.

Accolé coats of arms in dexter of Comte Adhémar de Chateauneuf-Randon, Motto Deo Juvante, in sinister of Berthe d’Arthuys de Charnisay. Adhémar was count when he got married in 1869 and his father marquis.
Marks : master’s mark IML, charge Paris 1756-1762 and letter date X in the cover and on bottom, discharge on the rim.
Condition report : Bottom marks partly legible. Later 19th century wood handle. Minor crack to the hinge of the cover.
