Blonde sandstone masculine head of god Kubera sculpted in round.
Kubera, lord of wealth, overlord of earthly divinities, god-king of the Yakshas and also one of the eight guardians of the directions (dikpāla) in Hindu mythology. He is the guardian and sovereign of the northern part. His anatomical facial characteristics are well representative of the Gupta style. The forehead is stamped with spherical tilaka, very elaborate hairstyle, eyes with heavy lids, protruding lower lip and mouth corners accented with dimples.
