Within a large painted carved wood frame. A matching support holds the painting enabling it to be hung along a cyma.
Rousseau-Decelle was a French painter originally from Roche sur Yon and was a student of William Bouguereau. Was awarded second in Grand Prix of Rome, the artist exhibited after 1903 at the Salon of French Artists. In 1905, he presented our painting which was well-received by the public and praised with glowing criticism.
One of his most famous paintings is the Session of Chambers for French Deputies, July 17, 1907.
Condition report : Accident in the center of the canvas, active crackling and painting losses.
