Porcelain soup plate. China, Yongzheng Period


Porcelain soup plate painted in Famille Rose enamels of scene representing a sage crossing a lake via a footbridge. Wall and rocky coast behind him. Closed garden on islet at end of footbridge. Inner rim is richly decorated with trellis frieze accented with six peony flowers and second turquoise blue frieze with incised decoration. Outer rim ornated with frieze of branches and diverse flowers. Back with three sacred lingzhi mushrooms.

Few enamel flaking. One hairline crack on back’s center
