Porcelain plate with Lan-Tsai-Ho decoration. China, Kangxi Period


Porcelain plate with Imari decoration. Center painted with flowers basket known as “Lan-Tsai-Ho”, one of eight Taoist immortals. Outer and inner rim painted with six blue and red reserves, comprising flowered branches and peonies, qilin, birds and butterflies.

China, Kangxi Period (1662-1722)

This very famous pattern inspired by productions by A. Pynacker from Delft during the 18th Century and Bayeux also adapted this composition during the 19th Century.
