Porcelain bottle cooler. China, Qianlong Period


Circular porcelain bottle cooler with two handles painted with Famille Rose enamels. The two sides are ornated with cartouches representing Mandarins on pavilion stairs. Friezes of flowered branches and friezes of spear tips on borders and small pedestal.

Height: 15 cm (6 in.) - Diameter: 16 cm (6-1/4 in.)

One restored handle. Minor wear on borders

This form adapts a model used by European smiths under Louis XV’s reign
