Peaked wood dowry chest
Traditional chest offered during wedding ceremonies. The bride places her jewelry and personal items in it. One small door fitted on one sloped side’s center helps close with padlock. Rosaces decoration ornates the chest partitions. Mounted onto four small feet.
North-West India (Rajasthan), Late 19th Century or Early 20th Century
Height: 46 cm (18 in.) - Width: 55 cm (21-1/2 in.) - Depth: 33 cm (13 in.).
Note: one crack can very easily be restored
