Pair of patinated bronze and gilded-bronze chenets known as "AUX ENFANTS ARABESQUE". Ornated with two busts of children emerging from two foliated, scrolling branches, warming their hands with a torch. Rectangular base with fluting and beads. Six toupie feet. Irons ornated with a bronze baluster.
Late 18th Century.

An identical pair was sold at Hôtel Drouot, December 17, 1986, Étude Chopin de Janvry (78 0000 F).
The Musée Camondo, Paris have a similar model in their collection which was executed by J.N. Turpin, master bronzer status in 1773 (Inv. 373).
