Pair of patinated and gilt bronze candlesticks. Sockets decorated with palmettes. Stems decorated with three gained woman's heads on bare feet.
Round base with palmettes.

Empire Period.

Height: 26,8 cm (10-1/2 in.).

Attributed to bronzer Claude Galle.
A similar model was delivered by Galle in 1804 to Fontainbleau Palace (F 1156 C).

In 1807, in the room for "deux paires de flambeaux en cuivre ciselé et doré à gaine ronde avec trois figures et leurs pieds, ornements de palmettes, hauteur : 27 cm" (two pairs of chiseled and gilded copper candlesticks with three rounded gained figures and their feet, palmette ornaments, height: 27 cm [10-1/2 in.]).
