Officer’s sword, First Empire Period


Officer’s sword probably from a Westphalian regiment. Checkered ebony fuse. Gilt bronze hilt chiseled with foliages, palm leaves and military trophies. Down-turned shell with “N” under crown, oak and laurel leaves, drums, shakos and cannons. Straight blade with flat back engraved with imperial eagle and letter “J” under crown (Jérôme Bonaparte).

Good condition. Without scabbard

It might be a Westphalian officer’s sword, German kingdom which Jérôme Bonaparte, Napoleon’s youngest brother, was elected King from 1807-1813
