This box, probably realized in the first half of the 19th Century demonstrates a mechanism of double secrets. Indeed, the action of the main cylinder is in connection with two flaps with handles hidden in the facade. Their opening is triggered by a system of pulls with balls situated under the box. It is therefore impossible to open the box with the key only, unless one has knowledge of this hidden mechanism.
