Marcel Renard, artist from Lyon, exhibited from the 1920s in a typically Art Deco spirit, he participated regularly at the Salon des Artistes Français (French Artists Fair) and at the Salon des Artistes Décorateurs (French Decorators Fair). In 1923, he received the second prize in the prix de Rome (Rome Prize) in the engraved medallions section, he is one of the innovators with his series of rivers, seas and liners, edited by the Monnaie de Paris (Paris Change). In France and in Europe, he realizes his works alone or in collaboration with architects, such as, Roux-Spitz, public monuments or décorations for édifices, bridges, schools, theatres…
