Manuel de Falla y Matheu (1876-1946) was one of the most important composers of Spanish music along with Isaac Albéniz and Enrique Granados. He began playing the piano at the age of 9 and left to study music in Madrid. In 1907, he arrived in Paris where he became especially inspired by Ravel and Debussy. After the First World War he returned to Spain where he composed his best works such as "The Sorcerer Love" or "The Tricorn" that Diaghilev produced in 1917 with the set design and costumes being designed by Picasso.
