Mamluk Art, 14th-15th Century: Quran folio


Quran folio on paper.

Rayhanî calligraphy text with 15 lines on each page in black ink illuminated with gilded rosettes at the end of verse, given to IV sermon "The Flock", verses 129-145.

The margins are enhanced with gilded medallions and polychromed rosette in fleurons, certain Kufic calligraphies with word ‘ash-dix - to note the grouping of 10 verses.

Egypt-Syria, Mamluk Art, 14th-15th Century.
