This lot depicts three Middle Ages masterpieces: The Saint Chapelle, center with Rouen Cathedral and right with Saint Jacques Tower that the engraver Lucien Gautier presented at the Salon of French Artists probably in 1912 and for which he received the first prize in the engraving category. The work received great praises and enthusiasm during its time. He repeated a similar feat with another triptych entitled “Hymne de pierres” (Hymn of Stones) addressing Notre Dame of Paris.
