Large round platter with moulded border engraved with emperor’s equestrian portrait and mention: NAPOLÉON BONABARTE (sic).
Unidentified partly illegible maker’s mark imposed three times: crowned laurel crown / indistinctive central motif / D.(-).

Belgium or Low Countries, Early 19th Century.

Diameter: 39,5 cm (15-1/2 in.).

- the hallmark is a Belgium or Holland type but the engraving is typically Alsatian and could have been executed in this region on a platter with foreign provenance.
- another platter with similar configuration can be found at the Strasbourg Museum, France.
