Jules BRATEAU (1844-1923)

Famous pewter set known as “Persian” composed of one flattened baluster ewer with incurved spout joined to the body via beaded branch, ornated with relief basketweave and flowers decoration. Handle attachments are covered with basketweave depicting foliaged branches. Atop circular presentation stand with central dome, ornated with flowers, rows of beads and openwork.

Distinct maker’s mark and counter-mark with gallows on presentation stand.
Distinct marker’s mark on ewer and small gallows mark.

Height of ewer: 27 cm (10-1/2 in.) - Diameter of presentation stand: 28 cm (11 in.)

Condition report : The decoration remains very new, irreproachable; one small repair of the cover’s tab to be noted.
