Like other icon painters, Jacques Brasilier rarely signed his works. His entire career was a quest for extreme idealism which was difficult to correlate with reality.
After his classical artistic training, Jacques Brasilier worked in Alphonse Mucha’s studio and very quickly dedicated himself to painting.
Josephin Péladan, founder of the Rose + Croix Salon movement, was a big influence who determined his career. Péladan, encouraged his first artworks and advised him heavily to work in Armand Point’s studio.
Armand Point, very Rosicrucian, trained in Fiesole, Italy. This journey was fruitful due to two essential masterpieces: Fra Angelico and Francis of Assisi’s, Beauty and Holy.
