Holland Service, MINTON, ENGLAND



"Holland" Service.

An octagonal shaped part service decorated in yellowish brown camaïeu with a central Gorgon's head in a sun within a gadrooned frame. Border with reserves of vases or cups surrounded by interlaced foliage and reserves of acanthus leaves on a black ground. For the pie dish, the sugar bowl and the dish on stand, four medallions imitating a cameo held by knotted garlands. Fillets and braids on the borders.

Stains inside the pie dish and restored foot. Cracks.

Impressed black ink mark Minton Holland.

Sugar bowl: Length: 24.5 cm (9-1/2 in.) - Height: 13 cm (5 in.).
Tureen: Length: 30.5 cm (12 in.) - Height: 18 cm (7 in.).
Stand: Diameter: 23 cm (9 in.) - Height: 7.5 cm (3 in.).
