Important set of drawings of academic models, studies after the Antique and others, circa 1830.

I) Twelve academic males. Charcoal, stump and white chalk. Some signed. Creases, foxings, tears, traces of wax seal. 60 x 46 cm (23-1/2 x 18 in.) approximately
II) Twelve studies of sculptures after the Antique. Some signed. Creases, foxings, tears, traces of wax seal. 60 x 46 cm (23-1/2 x 18 in.) and 42 x 28 cm (16-1/2 x 11 in.) approximately
III) Seven anatomical studies and an architectural perspective study. Pencil, charcoal, pen and ink. Creases, tears. 48 x 57 cm (18-3/4 x 22-1/4 in.); 50 x 39 cm (19-1/2 x 15-1/4 in.) and 29 x 40 cm (11-1/4 x 15-3/4 in.) approximately
IV) Seven lithographs by Llanta representing contemporary artists, famous authors and doctors. Signed and dated Llanta 1831, 1832 and 1833 with dedication "offert à son ami H. Beltz". (given to my friend H. Beltz). Humidity stains, foxings, tears. 56 x 37 cm (22 x 14-1/2 in.).

Within a drawing portfolio covered with blue-painted paper with foliage garland motifs circa 1830.

Henri BELTZ was a student of Baron GROS (1771-1835) and according to the manuscript writings on the drawings, these studies were realized in his studio.
