Painter born in Avranches, France. Illustrator and engraver. Maritime painter (1925) - School of Fine Arts in Nantes (1905-1909) then Julian Academy. Blumenthal prize for engraving (1925) - Exhibited at the National School of Fine Arts after 1921 - Society of Salon of Independents (1927-1944), Salon of Autumn - Founder and vice president of the Salon of Young contemporary engravers (after 1928). Professor at Ranson Academy in Paris. Realized numerous decors: Palais de la découverte (science museum) (1937) – Post office on Rue Tronchet (1939). Realized scenery for the theater and Opera Comique between the two world wars.
His favorite themes: scenes of plowing, peasants, harvest, animals, horse races, theater world, circus, wall murals projects for many public places.
He also produced illustrations for many books between the two world wars.
Paintings in the collections of many museums (Petit Palais, Museum of Modern Art, Alger, etc.), and especially in Avranches, where his family donated a large part of his work.
