Antinous of Bithynia (2nd Century A.D.) was known as Emperor Hadrian’s favorite and lover. He was deified after his tragic death at the age of 20. The youth is represented here with the attributes for the god of medicine, Asclepius. This drawing was probably executed after a marble in the Pergamon Museum collections, Germany.
