Large pre-printed vellum with lodge letterhead with engraved vignette with star, 2 wax seals from lodge with pink silk ties; document under glass, gilt wood frame.

The « St Frédéric des Amis choisis » (St. Frederick of Selected Friends) lodge of Boulogne-sur-Mer, France attested that Silvestre Chauveau, merchant at Boulogne « est PARVENU AUX SUBLIMES CONNAISSANCES DE LA CLASSE DES HAUTES SCIENCES MYSTIQUES », (has RECEIVED SUBLIME KNOWLEDGE OF THE UPPER MYSTIC SCIENCE CLASS), this “bref” (statement) was decision was made by Grand Chapter General of Grand Orient of France so that he is recognized « dans ses diverses qualités jusqu’au quatrième ordre » (as bearing diverse qualities up to the 4th rank). The document is signed by close to fifty members of the Grande-Loge Symbolique, of Grande-Loge d’Administration and Grand Chapitre Général of Grand Orient de France, including Godefroy de BEAUMONT-BOUILLON (1750-1823), Simon-Célestin CROZE-MAGNAN (1750-1818), Hippolyte Merché-MARCHAND (1766-1819).
