Post-Impressionist painter, when he arrived in Paris in 1912 he befriended the artist Maurice Utrillo at Montmartre Butte which he often painted. In 1920, he exhibited at the Salon of Autumn. He was an ardent illustrator of historic Paris and notably Montmartre. He also painted Belgium and the Netherlands. His preferred subjects were Montmartre, northern suburb, City walls, Zone and Saint Martin Canal (Dictionary of Montmartre Artists by André Roussard)
