Jérôme Cortade is a graduate of history and paleography and has a law degree. He is a former student-auditor with Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes (prestigious French university for higher studies) where he received accolades from Professor Jean Tulard for his research on the different editions of Montesquieu’s “The Spirit of the Laws”. 

 

After working as a genealogist for several important families, he began archival work in Paris in 2003 by contributing to the editing of exceptional auction catalogues such as the library of Viscount of Bourbon-Busset bound by Bradel-Derome discovered by the firm Honoré d'Urfé. He continues to share his knowledge and passion for antique documents by heading the “Autographs” department for two large libraries and then created his own business, Le Prosopographe in 2008.
