Geoffroy Ader began his career as a specialist of collector watches in 1995 and is considered today as one of the main authorities in the international market in his field. Coming from a long tradition of Parisian auctioneers, he started his career at Drouot and then went on to join the team of specialists at the Genevan auction house, Antiquorum in 2000.

As a young specialist at Antiquorum, he participated in many prestigious sales such as; the Lord Sandberg collection, that of Professor Thomas Engel, as well as the sale of the private collection of Theodor Beyer, without forgetting the thematic sales during this period.

In 2005, he joined the auction house Tajan as director of the watches department in charge of sales in Paris and Monaco. Among his most significant sales, he established a record for a mysterious small clock ‘La Borne de la Liberté’ by Cartier that was given to General de Gaulle after the Liberation of Paris.

In 2008, Geoffroy Ader was appointed the European director for Sotheby’s watch department in Geneva. He was at the beginning of the first evening sales for watches, in May 2008. During his career, he has dispersed many exceptional watch-making pieces including; the Patek Philipp « Trossi Leggenda » which belonged to the Count Trossi, renown for having been the first manager of Scuderia Ferrai, the personal Rolex of the former German Chancellor Konrad Adenauer, the Panerai prototype worn by Admiral Birindelli, which was a world record, the personal watch of the Beys of Tunis as well as that of King Ludwig II of Bavaria and the Negus.

During his time at Sotheby’s, he participated in many prestigious collections sales such as George Daniels London and the Graves Fullerton Collection in New York.

Facing changes in the art market with the arrival of new internet competitors, Geoffroy Ader became more and more interested in developments of this sector, he rejoined Antiquorum in 2015 as manager for the digital section where he initiated their first e-commerce watch platform, Antiquorum Watch Boutique which he developed in order to catch the attention of the new generation of e- collectors on the internet, which also coincided with the first partnership with an auction house and the marketplace Chrono24 through an offers site with fixed pricing, he also organised the first sale in collaboration with the watch brand, Maurice Lacroix.

This last extremely enriching experience led him to continue on this path to develop his activities with the reputed actor on the French and international market, Expertissim. With the support of its founder, Gauthier de Vanssay, they plan to offer collectors the first collector watches marketplace in France, Expertissim24, exclusively dedicated to the art market on the internet, enabling connoisseurs and collectors to benefit from an opening into this entirely digital world.
