ENGLAND, Wedgwood.

Covered ovoid vase fitted with two handles on a round base and a squared plinth. In blue-ground biscuit enhanced on each side with a relief medallion of a mythological figure: Apollo with his lyre and Venus. The medallion is suspended from a rose garland punctuated with pampillees. Relief zodiac signs on the border. Cover with flowered motif and gadroons. Acanthus leaves and palm leaves on base.

Incised mark on base "Wedgwood" and number 2.

19th Century.

Height: 26 cm (10-1/4 in.).

With a vase of later production decorated with cupids and foliage. Incised mark.
