Buckled canvas and warped on upper left part, under aged varnish

Student of Gustave Morin at School of Fine Arts in Rouen, France, then took courses under Joseph Quiniax at the Academy of Brussels, Belgium. He participated at the Salon of Paris between 1864-1875. His landscapes of Belgium, Holland and France are often depicted at twilight and often with a nostalgic aspect. Works by Daliphard are in the collections of French museums notably in Hyères and Rouen. The annotation “Blangy” reveals that this painting was realized at Blangis sur Bresle, Seine-Maritime commune. There is another recognized work that represents the marshes along Blangy sur Bresle (Source Bénézit).
