Historic statue of Shakyamuni buddha in bronze, seated on a thrown in the Lotus position (pasmasana), in the figuration of Maravijaya (victor over Mara). The right hand takes the gesture of the witness of the Earth. The left hand, palm in the air at the lap, symbolises meditation. Hair, attached by a band, is surmounted in a skull protuberance (ushnisha). The eyes are closed with incrusted mother of pearl. Ear lobes are elongated. Pleated monastic dress reveals the right shoulder and curve of the legs.
