Augustin Carrera was a student of Léon Bonnat and Martin. He exhibited at the Salon of French Artists after 1904. He obtained the gold medal in 1937. From 1927-1933, he participated in the Salon of Independants and Salon of Tuilleries. Officer of the Legion of Honour, he realized the ceiling for the Marseilles Opera House. The Cantini Museum of Marseille has several of his works in their collection such as Joueur de boules" and "La réussite".
