Shepherd and His Herd by a Waterfall.

Oak panel. One unfinished board.

Height: 24,5 cm (9-1/2 in.) - Width: 42 cm (16-1/2 in.).

Sculpted and gilded wooden frame, 18th Century, decor of grooved frieze, beads and heart-leaves.

Provenance: Auction of the Collection of Madame A. Doucet, Paris, Hôtel Drouot, November 21-22, 1966, n˚196.


Condition Report:
The painting is in a good state of coservation dirty under a yellow varnish. Painted on a leveled panel, we note a small, horizontal split with a length of 10 cm (4 in.) in the right, inferior angle. Had carried small losses of material. Small areas of restoration on the upper right in the grey clouds.
