Late 19th Century
Forgotten by the larger public, the company Alphonse Giroux (1799-1881) was one of Paris' most flourishing luxury boutiques of the 19th Century. Like the big merchants of the Ancient Regime, the company sold small pieces of cabinet work, small furniture and ornaments. Supplier to the Crown and the aristocracy, its success was undeniably linked to the development of industrial art.
