Walnut-veneered upright piano marked Gabriel Gaveau, Art Nouveau Style. A "Soleil" model. No. 68 (circa 1911).
Keyboard on columnar corbels with foliate scrolls. Two double movable light branches and brass lateral handles.
Mechanism is out of tune and dusty but in good condition. Minor accidents to the veneering.
Height: 126 cm (49-1/2 in.) - Width: 150 cm (59 in.) - Depth: 66 cm (26 in.).
Gabriel is one of the sons of the renowned Joseph Gaveau. In rebellion against his father, he therefore started his own business in 1911 which produced quality pianos.
