Italy, 18th Century.

Small, in-folio portfolio, full brown Morocco leather; entirely gilded boards: around central coat of arms, successive frameworks of straight fillets and defined curves around flower-beds filled with small irons, scales, foliage; long foliages along backstrip; interior covered with a sheet of marbled paper of two colors (binding of the era).

Dimensions (closed): 25 x 34 cm (9-3/4 x 13-1/4 in.).

With coat of arms of archbishop Colonna. This renowned Roman family has spawned popes, cardinals, bishops.

Few minor rubbings, otherwise a very fine object, unexposed.
