A maple veneered and amaranth fillets commode fitted with five drawers, including one secret plinth drawer. The upper drawer with drop-front facade enclosing three satinwood drawers simulating four and a pigeon-hole. Mahogany guilloche borders. White marble top with triple ovolo molded edge.

Minor accidents and splits.

Louis Edouard Lemarchand (1795-1872) cabinetmaker and son of a cabinetmaker, was one of the main royal suppliers during the reign of Charles X and of Louis Philippe. His great reputation was not only due to the quality of his production but also to the commission he received for Napoleon’s ebony coffin. He participated in the Exhibition of French Products and Industry in 1823 and 1844.
