Mahogany and mahogany-veneered folding games table on four baluster and gadroon legs. Green felt inset.
Mid-19th Century.
Height: 74 cm (29 in.) - Length: 83 cm (32-1/2 in.) - Width: 42 cm (16-1/2 in.).
According to the family tradition this table was purchased during the auction of the General Boulanger's furniture. Georges Ernest Jean-Marie Boulanger (1837-1891), Officer General, and appointed Minister of War in 1886, was famous for undermining the Third Republic, but was condemned in absentia for "conspiracy against interior security". He went into exile in Belgium.
