Old and 19th century paintings

After studying law and history Eric Turquin passed the professional axam to be an auctioneer.After some training practice (1977-1979) at Paul Touzet’s ; then one of the three parisian experts specialised in old paintings he worked at Sotheby’s London from 1979 to 1987 first as a catalogue editor, then as an expert in old paintings, lastly as head of the old paintings department.

In september 1987, he settled as a freelance expert. A member of SFTP, he works for Tajan, Piasa and most of the great parisian and provincial auctioneers as old paintings expert.

Chantal Mauduit joined Eric Turquin’s cabinet in 1994. After studies at the University and École du Louvre, she worked with Louis Ryaux, an old paintings expert in Paris before being in charge for four years of Galerie Messmer, Quai Voltaire, Paris. She lectures at Drouot-Formation. And edited the catalogue of Jacques Dumont’s work under the supervision of Pierre Rosenberg.
