Gilded bronze pendulum clock with matte and satin finish of "Sacrifice for Love". A vestal figure seated atop a draped slab supporting the movement, maintaining the altar flame for Love. Canine beside her symbolizes fidelity. Smooth, rectangular plinth with four ball feet.

A similar pendulum clock originating from the Chateau of Saint Cloud, nowadays the Mobilier National, was reproduced on p. 48 in M.F. Dupuy-Baylet, Pendules du Mobilier National 1800-1870, Faton, 2006.
