Gilt-bronze mantel clock decorated with two figures symbolizing Arts and Letters surrounding the movement decorated with laurel leaves. Front decorated with four gilt and polychrome porcelain plaques with cupids and flowers. Dial signed "Denière, Fd de bzes. Paris". Movement signed Denière and numbered 1242.

Denière : Manufacturer of art bronzes since 1820. Guillaume Denière succeeded his father and continued business activities in 1855 until the end of the 19th Century.
