Volume with cased boards cover bearing the first lithograph in colors and title printed in black.
36,2 x 26,9 cm (14-1/4 x 10-1/2 in.). (P. Cramer, Marc Chagall les Livres Illustrés (Illustrated Books), catalogue raisonné n' 25).

Carrying 17 color lithographs inserted in the text of the English version, 1 color lithograph on cover, 12 black and white lithographs. Slightly yellowed cover with few abrasions and minor material flaking, adhesive band pasted on spine, re-sewn.

Overall, good state of conservation, creased end paper, slightly yellowed borders, small tearing of sheets along the hem (interior border), few stains in the pages with text. The last page has a reproduction (p. 105) as well as the title pages and the title of color lithographs and the final end paper are inserted on top edge of volume.
